Making a UV Sensor

This is a presentation Mrs Lagitupu of the things you need to do to make a UV sensor. It has the instructions that Dr Shah gave us as we were making the sensor. Enjoy

UV LIGHT SENSOR

This term in extension we have been learning about UV light. We got into groups of three and made UV sensors, we then had to track how much UV is being let in by the sun each day. This is our research, Mrs Lagitupu put a few questions in this for us to answer. Enjoy

Fair Trade!

WALT: Analyse and interpret statistical data
Task Description:
This week we're learning about trade. We played a trade game and got into groups that were going to be played as countries. We were given different items in different amounts. Our group (Me,Pisi,Zaeeda and Marika) was called Babushka. We had a lot of gold which made us rich from the start because gold was worth the most points. As prices changed and oil became more popular no one wanted to trade with us. We started off with 82 points and ended with 84.

Whakatauki

In rotations we are learning about whakatauki's. Whakatauki's are maori proverbs. We had to choose a whakatauki and choose a word that resembles you and the maori proverb. We then have to write the word onto a paper and make it look pretty. My word is Teamwork which in maori is mahi tahi.

Due to our topic Life's a stage team 5 is doing rotation learning different dances. This week is our 3rd rotation and we have been moved to room 1 with Mrs Moala. We learnt about german dancing. Our dance was called "D'hammerschmiedsgselln". It is a dance where you have to been in pairs then a group of 4. Mrs Moala would describe it is the german style siva samoa, because there's a samoan dance that requires you slapping your body. My pair was with Jahzara then our group of four was: Me, Jahzara, Devontae and Freedom. In the beginning we had some trouble then we got we just kept on stopping because we started laughing, but in the end I think we did the best. The next day I was paired Leilani and was in a group with: Me,Leilani,Pisi and Delijah. Here's a video.

DNA - What is it? How does it work?

Task Description:
This is a google drawing about what I know about DNA. Today we move to next of our genomics and are onto stage 2. In stage 2 we learnt about DNA and how it works this is what I know about it. DNA tells the amino acids to form a certain shape and then those amino acids turn into proteins then the proteins turn to living cells and so on. DNA is a double helix structure in the nucleus of a cell. The DNA is so long it looks like tangled string.
