Should Zoos Be Banned?
Imagine a world without being able to see any animals? Well, that would be a world without any zoos. People have brought up that zoos should be banned and I agree for these reasons: Serious Health Problems, The animals and human lives aren't equal and finally Captivity. Read more to find out more about my 3 reasons we should ban zoos.

Health Problems:

Because of bad weather, a zoo in Alaska struggled to look after an elephant named Maggie. Usually, on a rainy day, you will have to stay inside and play games but for Maggie, she stayed inside a small space. She was provided with a treadmill to do at least some exercise but she then developed difficulties to walk.

Unequal Lives:

Poor Harambe the gorilla died because an unsupervised 3-year-old boy went into a Harambes' habitat. Human and animals lives aren't equal and humans don't understand that animals need their space. If humans invade animal habitats then the animal is most at risk.

Captivity:

Animals like a cat will do well in a small atmosphere unlike larger animals like the orca or whales. In the wild, an orca can live up to 100 years old but in the zoo 30 -17 years is as long as they will live. So they do better in the wild.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, animals should be left alone because of the reasons stated above. They thrive when in the wild and if we want to preserve these animals then we should treat them well. So what do you think, should zoos be banned?

Text Tiles

Today I finally got to get my cushion done in Text Tiles at Tamaki College. On Week 6, last term was the week we first began Text Tiles. Our Teacher: Mrs. Tuipulotu gave us a few papers to practice sewing. Over the past couple of weeks, we have learned how to thread the sewing machine, learn what each part does and even how to use it.

After a term of threading and sewing, we got into Term 3 knowing exactly what we were gonna do. Today (The Last Week) we got handed our fabric (Which was Ben 10) and we sewed the sides, filled in the cotton and finished our Ben 10 Cushions.

Should everyone learn a language?

Bilingual or Unilingual
¿Todos deberían Aprender más de un Idioma? If you understood what it meant then great, but if not maybe learning a new language might not be such a bad idea. Read more to find out on my opinion on if learning a language should be enforced.

Positives:
Yes, why not because learning a new language has positive effects on the brain which sounds good right? And it can come in handy when traveling is one your "Favorite Things To Do List". Communication is key when learning because well if you were learning something in a different country and language it would be pretty difficult. Plus once you've learned a language it will be easier to learn others.

Negatives:
Being bilingual can be a bit overwhelming. One negative of being bilingual is you can't switch a language off to use another. It can also slow down your speech which can get frustrating. But that could be a advantage because then you wouldn't be blurting out things you weren't meant to say.

My Perspective:
I do and don't think everyone should learn a language. The reason is it depends on the type of person you are if you're busy and don't have time then that could be your reason why you wouldn't learn a language. I would want to learn a language from Asia because it would be easier to learn the others once you've the hang of the first.

Overall, I really can't decide whether I agree or disagree. Would you want to learn a language? Which would you choose? Till next time adiós,아디오스,au revoir and goodbye

Trying Out Morse Code

Math week has started and this week Room 4 Maths will be trying to solve some questions including Morse Code. Morse Code was created in 1820 by a group of engineers and physicists. Samuel Morse was one of those who created a signal code which was labelled after him. 

Mrs Stone put us into 5 teams. In team 4 is Me,Pisirina,Marika and Trinity. Unfortunately Trinity was absent today and Marika was at rehearsals for this year's school production. A few pieces of paper were handed out with some questions on them, each question was worth a certain amount of money. The team with the most money gets a prize on Friday. By the way the money I am talking about isn't actually real money it is just this system Room 4 does to help the students behave more.
