Yesterday on the 19th of November the whole of team 3 went on an extraordinary Adventure to the Museum. We played a game called fossil or not. After we played Fossil or not we had to learn about a T-Rex there were  three objects that we had to study.  There were three groups out of the whole class. Did you know that Nahea is the same size as a T-Rex head. Each group got an Object. We learnt about what a paleontologist. What do paleontologist do they find a hill with hard light brown stones then they get a brush and starts to sweep the dirt and then they have to gently pull  out a

Maniakalni Film Festival

On Wednesday our whole class went on an Adventure to Sylvia Park. The whole school went on busses the presenters went in cars because cars are faster than busses. When we got into the Bus we started to sing silly songs. The girls played hand games while the boys sang songs. While we stopped at the  pedestrian everybody started to have a little conversation. When we got to Sylvia Park the bus parked in the parking area when the doors opened he from the Bus. We had to walk out of the Bus and line up.

When we walked into the theatre I saw hundreds of chairs. I was so excited when I sat on the red comfy chairs. The chair's felt like a comfy Bouncy castle. The screen was as tall as a pteranodon  flying.

We watched movies made by our school on the big screen. Our school was very proud of each other. We worked very Hard

Fraction Wall

Navy Band

Today the New Zealand Navy band visited our school. The band played Music and also spongebob. There were volunteers to be the conductor. My favourite part was when the Navy Band played Uptown funk and Katy Perry Roar. I really enjoyed listening to all the different instruments. It was the best day ever.

Chromebooks

Wow! What an exciting afternoon I had yesterday. Room 15 went to Mr Moran’s  class to learn how to use Chromebooks. Mr Moran buddied some of the Room 15 kids with the Room 11/12 students. Mrs Trimble helped Mr Moran find everybody a buddy.

We each were matched with a buddy. Mr Moran gave Room 15 and  Room 11/12 an example of what to do. We had to do an Inquiry Activity we also got a turn on our buddies Chromebook. These  are the dinosaurs we learnt about a Stegosaurus, Allosaurus, Supersaurus.

My favourite part of the afternoon was when we got to play on cool maths games. Me and my partner got to play on Fireboy and watergirl.

My Best Holidays

Wow! What an exciting day I had on Sunday. I went to Bowling, the one in panmure. It was on Sunday evening at 7:20pm. I went with my Aunty,Uncle and my cousin. My Aunty bought me Burger King.We ate a double chicken burger

The best thing that happened is that I went laser tag and shot my Uncle then I turned around and shot my brother. He was in the blue.(that was my team). then me and my cousin shot my Aunty and Uncle.

I felt so excited when in the first round of bowling I knocked down all the pins. I was so happy it was the best day of my life. 

P.E

While all the classes in Term 3 are working on maths. Miss Va’afusuaga  sets up all the tennis balls, hoops,cones and also cricket bats. After Miss Va’afusuaga is finished setting everything up she always makes sure that she is on time.(P.E starts at 12:30). But when it is raining we will have to miss out on P.E

The games we played Rob the nest, Rounders, Cricket, overarm, underarm, 7 things to throw. While all the classes in Term 3 are working on maths. After Miss Va’afusuaga is finished setting everything up she always makes sure that she is on time.(P.E starts at 12:30). But when it is raining we will have to miss out on P.E.

Politician

If you want to be a politician you need to work very hard.You also have to knock on people's doors and tell them if you are going to vote for me.Sometimes you have to wave signs on the side of the road that says vote for please.Or when people or cars come by they can give you ups and downs and sometimes you could be a little embarrassed.

Politician work in both Wellington and their local electorate. Politicians take taxes off our parents to spend on roads, schools and hospitals. Politicians go to parliament and debate about how people use their taxes. Under parliament is a swimming pool and a secret tunnel.

Firefighter

One Hen

Kojo is a hardworking boy from Ghana,who is very poor. When Kojo was a little boy his. Father past away now Kojo is trying to save some money.Kojo and his mum had to sell firewood to the market for his family.Each day Kojo collects some firewood to sell at the supermarket.when his mother receives a loan from some village families,she gives a little money to her son.When Kojo has the money he need's to think wisely. Kojo knew what he was going to one hen.Kojo was going to eat two eggs and sell three at the supermarket.

Kojo sells his eggs at the market and buys more hens.Kojo goes to school for six months.Kojo was going to buy a chicken farm.Kojo started a trust that gives out small loans to people who cannot get a loan from the bank.when they earn money Kojo the some employees for this trust.When the employee's hand out some loans to people that have no money.The people will get healthier and stronger and a good life too.

Fire fighter

If you want to be a firefighter you have to fill out a long form and do all kinds of tests. When you are in the physical test you will have to carry a dummy for (30 meters). It takes about two months to fill the form.You also have to carry a  big heavy tank around your back. In the test you will have to do a lot of activities and lift a lot of things. So when you are doing the test you have to concentrate a  lot. In the test it involves  a lot of hard work and exercise so do a lot of running and lifting weights.

Firefighters respond to emergency calls in a variety of ways. When a baby is locked in a car and the keys are in the boot. The firefighter tries to figure out a smart ways to get a baby out of the car. A firefighter can also do a lot of important jobs like save people from a fire. Firefighters can help you in a car crash too.

Fire trucks are like a moving tool box.Fire trucks also carry big long pickaxe to smash the doors and save the people stuck in a fire. A fire truck also carries a ladder just in case a cat or a person is stuck in a hotel or in a tree.When there is a fire the firefighters come to house and rescue the people with their hoses.In the fire truck there is first aid kits for people that have been injured.People  know that the fire truck is coming because of there sirens.So when the fire fighters come  to save you I a fire you will see the fire fighters wearing a mask it will be called a gas mask.

I would like to be a firefighter because  you get visit other schools and teach the children all about the job and all the physical tests.

Did you know that tiny  insects lurking around your house so make sure that you get all of the dust mites out  of your house. Antoni van invented a microscope so you could easyliy see the Dust mites.

Robin Hood

A long long time ago there lived an outlaw called Robin Hood. Robin Hood stole some money from the wealthy when he had got the money he would give the poor people some money. Did you know that the outlaws made their own home.

Robin Hood was the best archer in the world. From about 100 paces away Robin Hood could shoot his arrows to the sheriff's deer. The sheriff had an idea he was going to hold an archer competition. The sheriff's idea was when Robin Hood comes to the competition all the guards will capture Robin Hood and his friends and send him to prison. The competition is just around the corner if any archer wins the prize for 1st place will be a silver trophy. The day of the competition had come Robin Hood just going there with his dirty clothes he had to go in disguise. When Robin Hood went to the competition in disguise nobody could recognise him. Each archer had their turn Robin Hood was the last archer. After 1 shot Robin Hood was about to receive the silver trophy just 1 more shot then he will get the silver trophy. Then it was quiet Robin Hood took his aim then he got both arrows on the red target. The crowd went viral then Robin Hood rushed home and hid the silver trophy and they lived happily ever after. The End.

Rainy Day Activities

Today Room 15 were thinking of what to do on rainy day's. Here are all the ideas targets dolls house mask. I had made snakes and ladders I also made an puzzle.

Matariki

Each year in early June or late May every school will celebrate Matariki. Matariki, or Māori New Year celebrations were once popular, but stopped in the 1940s.Matariki literally means the Gods eyes.Matariki is the Māori name for the small cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters, in the Taurus constellation. In New Zealand it comes into view low on the north-eastern horizon, appearing in the tail of the Milky Way in the last days of May or in early June, just before dawn. This heralds the Māori New Year.I also learned about what happened in the store.

Cinderella

Once upon a time there lived there was a beautiful girl called Ella. Her beauty shines as her kindness. Ella's mother died along time ago. Ella was devastated, her father married a cruel stepmother. Her two ugly sisters saw Ella near the cinders so they called her Cinderella. Tears came down Her cheeks .

An invitation arrived at Ella's house and it said the king was going to hold a grand ball in the royal ballroom and the invitation also said that every woman in the land would dance with the prince as the days past on the land was preparing for the grand ball. Cinderella had to pick out the best hairdos and the best dresses,when the mean cruel stepmother had gave her one thing to do they gave her another thing to do.The day came of the royal ball had Cinderella sew dresses she didn't finish sewing her dress so her mice friends finished it off.

Cinderella was scared that she wouldn't have enough time to get her dress done. When she went into her room on her bed was her dress that her friends had made the dress that Cinderella had not finished Cinderella was so happy.When it was time to go to the ball Cinderella rushed down the stairs but... The two ugly sisters ripped the dress that  Cinderella was wearing she went out to the yard and cried Cinderella's fairy godmother had come Cinderella knew that her dreams would come true the fairy godmother said to Cinderella go and get 1 big pumpkin into One fine coach  6 big fat mice and I will turn them into 6 horses

Cinderella did as she was told from the 6 big fat rats the fairy Godmother  turned the 6th rat into a footman. Cinderella was so happy she was filled with joy but there were only 1 thing to fix up her dirty rags and her shoes the fairy Godmother turned  Cinderellas dirty rags into a beautiful blue sparkle dress.Cinderella was splendid with surprise.The  fairy Godmother said to Cinderella go on enjoy. But one thing to remember on the last stroke of Midnight the spell will be broken now go, go to the ball.

As soon as Cinderella got to the grand ball it was just about time to come to the ball. Everybody was amazed of her beauty. The Prince was amazed she has never meet the most prettiest girl in the whole wide world.Cinderella got a chance to dance with the prince . Every girl was so jealous of how beautiful  Cinderella was. Cinderella said to the Prince they are all looking at you but then the Prince said know they are all looking at you. Cinderella  was so happy she was  just about to forget her promise with her Fairy godmother. She rushed to her Fine coach when Cinderella raced down the stairs one of the glass slippers fell off. Cinderella was about to go and get her glass slipper then Cinderella said there isn't no more time to waste . As soon as Cinderella got in her coach the palace Guards went out to find Cinderella but it was no use it was about to rain  Cinderella reached the gate way to her house when Cinderella got into her room she hide her glass slipper in her closet so her two ugly sisters wouldn't find her glass slipper. When the two ugly sisters arrived at their home with their mother they saw  Cinderella had red cheeks. The stepmother and two ugly daughters knew that Cinderella is hiding something they asked Cinderella a few questions. Cinderella was scared that one of the sisters will prove to the stepmother that  was dancing with the Prince all night.(The  Prince caught the most  beautiful girl in the whole entire palace). When everyone was asleep Cinderella couldn't stop thinking of the Prince.

It was morning time the Prince had an idea I shall find the girl that was dancing with me all night so search every girl's house and see who fits the shoe most but nobody fitted the glass shoe. It was Cinderella's turn to try it on. It fits YES so Cinderella shall marry the Prince.

So they lived happily ever after.

PE Style

I made this movie with my friends in year 3 extension.

The first thing we did was to write new words to Taylor Swift's song - Style.  Then we had to record ourselves singing. Finally we were able to make our very own MTV.

This is called the don't walk machine. It works by when you are lazy and you want a coffee just add springs and make a control to control it and that should do the trick.

Maui and the sun

Long ago there was a man and four brothers.The man's name was Maui. The flaming sun was moving fast in the morning and slow at night. Maui told his brothers we shall capture that burning sun and make him move more slowly.The brothers laughed with laughter. The brothers said, "that is not possible." The brothers made flax ropes to capture that flaming sun.Once they had finished making the flax ropes they hid under the enormous rocks. I will shout a signal 1,2,3, now! The Brothers raced to the sun and threw the ropes around the sun.The brothers held the ropes tightly. Maui beat the sun up many times.The sun said, "stop!! You are going to kill me. Finally  the brothers and  Maui had plenty of time to fish,hunt and eat there food.

Hokulea landed

Last Wednesday the 12 schools from the Manaiakalani came to greet the Hawaiian people that came all the way from Hawaii.The beautiful ocean reflected the Hawaiian waka that was already there once the people got to the reserve all the schools sang a song for the people that were on the boat. When it was all most time to go we high - fived the Hawaiian people. I felt to excited.

The School Picnic

Last Friday Pt England school went to a school picnic the whole school walked all the way to the pt England school beach. When we got there we all talked about where are we going and what are we doing then we put some mats on the ground.we had some snacks before we were going to play so then when I play with my friends little brother Jordan .We had lots of fun we meet my friends uncle treva my friends dad gave me some chicken and chips.I sang in the karaoke. the first time I sang I was so scared and shy but then when I did it the next time I sang I felt happy. I loved the school picnic I love playing   in the park.me and my friend Pisi had lots of fun together .I packed up all of my stuff. So then my class walked in a straight line and then Mrs Burt told the whole school that nobody can go behind Ms garden and nobody can go in front of Ms Nua once we got to class we played sleeping lions some people keep on peeking so then they got out.
